Conrad Bali Presents Savor the Source: A Culinary Tribute to the Island’s Local Producers and Artisan

Bali, FORTUNE - Conrad Bali is welcoming guests on an extraordinary culinary journey that celebrates the resort’s deep-rooted partnerships with local suppliers and the island's rich natural resources. Savor the Source is a weekly dining experience at Conrad Bali’s signature beachfront restaurant, Eight Degrees South, where every Thursday guests indulge in a vibrant feast inspired by the hardworking artisans and fresh ingredients of the island.

This unique event showcases the best of Bali’s natural bounty, with each dish highlighting locally sourced ingredients, including fresh produce from Plaga Farms, seafood from Bali Sustainable Seafood, and decadent chocolate from Jungle Gold. Fragrant herbs hand-picked from the resort’s rooftop garden Kebun Kita further enhances the experience, capturing the essence of Bali in every bite.

“Savor the Source is more than just a culinary experience; it’s a tribute to community, sustainability, and responsible tourism,” said Kevin Girard, General Manager of Conrad Bali. “By dining with us, guests are contributing to the livelihood of Bali's local farmers, fishers, and artisans.”

Napkins used during the event are crafted from recycled plastic by Patemar, a local vendor that collaborates with Plastic Bank Indonesia and Sungai Watch to tackle Bali’s plastic waste. Decor elements, including striking metal leaves adorning the entrance, are sourced from local craftspeople, adding an authentic touch of Bali’s artisanship to the evening.

Each guest will leave with a unique, handcrafted postcard by local Balinese artist Gusti Ngurah Agung Dwi Putra, from Gianyar whose work spans various mediums, including sculpture, portraiture, and abstract art. They will also receive a package of gourmet hand-harvested sea salt from Muntigunung, a social enterprise in North-East Bali producing high-quality products that create employment opportunities within the local community.

“Savor the Source embodies our deep respect for Bali’s natural resources and local communities,” says Girard. “It reflects our dedication to sustainability and offers our guests the opportunity to experience the fresh and authentic ingredients of Bali while positively impacting the environment and the people who call this island home.”
